Paediatric echocardiography is a diagnostic test used to evaluate the structure & function of heart in children.
Congenitial heart diseases like atrial septal defect , ventricular septal defect ( popularly known as hole in the heart ) . Tetralogy of Fellot etc. are detected by Paediatric echo which uses sound waves to create detailed images of heart of children. It is completely safe for children.
During the test , a gel is applied to the child's chest & a transducer / probe is moved over the chest to produce the images of the heart . The child / infant lies in the lap of the mother.
The test is non-invasive , painless & does not use ionizing radiation. It is completely safe for children / infants.
Paediatric echocardiography can help Dr. Bhushan to evaluate the heart's chamber , valves and blood vessels, detect any structural abnormalities and assess the heart's function and blood flow. The test can also help identify any problems with the heart's valves, such as stenosis (narrowing) or regurgitation(leakage).
It's important to note that Paediatric echocardiography is a safe and painless diagnostic test that can provide valuable information about the structure and function of the heart.
